FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Penticton, BC – June 30, 2018 – Kaizen Sports & Entertainment Ltd. is pleased to announce that client Zach Fischer has agreed to terms with the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League (AHL) for the 2018-19 season.
The 20-year old Lloydminster, AB, native was selected by the Calgary Flames in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Fischer spent the 2017-18 season playing with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL), on the heels of a very strong performance at the 2017 NHL Young Stars Tournament in Penticton, BC.
Fischer makes his professional hockey debut having played four successful seasons in the WHL, where he was known for his unique mix of skill and aggressive play. He registered 215GP and 134PTS (76g-58a) between the Medicine Hat Tigers and the Spokane Chiefs.
In his limited down-time, Zach focuses on his charity, Z For Kids, whose purpose is to see fewer children go without, in life and athletics. Established with the help of a few Alberta businesses, Z For Kids leverages Zach’s positive influence and has donated to a number of organizations, including Ronald McDonald House, KidSport Medicine Hat, and Wishing Star Foundation. A true gentleman, Zach’s passion for helping less fortunate youth cannot be quantified.
“Zach will accomplish great things as he launches his professional hockey career with the Stockton Heat,” said Managing Director Michael O’Rafferty. “His unforgiving, aggressive style of play demands his opponents’attention. He is highly skilled, committed and hard-working. There is no doubt that Zach will experience success.”
