Jordan Kawaguchi Signs NHL Entry Level Contract with the Dallas Stars

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Penticton, BC – March 31, 2021 – Kaizen Sports & Entertainment Ltd. is pleased to announce that client, Jordan Kawaguchi, has agreed to terms with the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL) on an Entry Level Contract (ELC) beginning next season.

The one-year NHL deal will run through the 2021-22 season. Jordan will join the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League (AHL) for the remainder of their season.

Kawaguchi, 23, spent the last four seasons with the powerhouse University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks.

His college career has been as decorated as any player in recent memory. A two-time All-NCHC First Team selection, Kawaguchi finished his UND career with 126 points (40 goals, 86 assists) in 136 career games played. That point total ranks 46th all-time in the North Dakota record books.

As described by www.fightinhawks.com ‘Kawaguchi led the Fighting Hawks in scoring for the third consecutive year, the first UND player to do that since Greg Johnson did so from 1991-93. He recorded ten goals and 26 assists this season, fourth-most points in all of NCAA D1. The team’s captain had a flair for the dramatic, scoring a school-record five overtime goals, including two this season. He posted nine points in five playoff games for North Dakota this year.’

“We couldn’t be happier for Jordan and his family, ” stated Kaizen Managing Director Michael O’Rafferty. “His time at UND has been extraordinary. Jordan entered college hockey as a wide-eyed teenager and today leaves as the Captain and ready for his next challenge – professional hockey. We are very excited to watch his continued development in Texas as he establishes himself in professional hockey.”
