Callum Tung Signs Entry-Level Contract With New York Rangers
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Penticton, BC – March 31, 2025 – Kaizen Sports Agency is proud to announce that goaltender Callum Tung has signed a three-year Entry-Level Contract (ELC) with the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Tung, 21, has quickly become one of the most compelling stories in hockey. After going undrafted in both the WHL and NHL, his path – from Junior B with the Port Alberni Bombers to a breakout season in the NCAA – has been all about perseverance, development, and trusting his process.
Now in his freshman year at the University of Connecticut, Tung has turned heads with a 2.01 goals-against average, .933 save percentage, and a 10-4-1 record through 15 starts. He was recently named to the 2024–25 Hockey All-Rookie Team and recognized as one of the top free-agent goalies in the college game.
“Callum’s journey has really taken a life of its own,” said Michael O’Rafferty, Senior Managing Director of Kaizen Sports. “His rise reflects everything we believe in at Kaizen – hard work, patience, and constant evolution. The Rangers were the right fit, especially with the legendary Benoit Allaire leading their goaltending group. It’s a system with plenty of opportunity and built to develop guys like Callum.”
Born in Port Moody, BC, Tung’s career has been anything but traditional. From the Vancouver NE Chiefs (BCEHL), to Junior B, to earning a starting job with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs (BCHL), he kept betting on himself – and winning.
“This is a huge moment for Callum and his family,” said Carter Rhine, Western Associate at Kaizen Sports. “Our relationship has always been built on honesty, belief, and trusting in his talent. He’s done things the hard way, but that’s exactly what makes this signing so rewarding. The blue-shirts are getting a gamer.”
Tung will join the Hartford Wolf Pack, the AHL affiliate of the New York Rangers, effective immediately to conclude the season.
